Buy a Royal Oak Offshore in Dubai With Confidence
An Offshore usually lives a harder life than a Royal Oak, so we check it accordingly. Our specialists run the chronograph through start, stop and reset, look at the case and bezel bevels for polishing, and inspect the rubber strap or ceramic bracelet for cuts, chips and wear. The movement, dial, serial and reference numbers and documents are checked against the reference before any listing goes live.
This grid also includes the Royal Oak Offshore Diver, the time-only dive model of the family. Every listing shows the exact watch, its condition and what is included, and we will send more photos, a running video or a condition report on request.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Buying Guide
Royal Oak Offshore History in Brief
Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak Offshore in 1993. Designed by Emmanuel Gueit, the 42 mm reference 25721ST looked so large beside other luxury watches of the time that collectors nicknamed it “The Beast”. The line has since grown to include chronographs, divers and limited editions in steel, ceramic, titanium, forged carbon and gold, and a new 43 mm generation with calibre 4401 arrived in 2021.
Royal Oak Offshore References and Generations
The core chronograph references, plus the Diver that shares this grid.
25721ST: 42 mm, Steel, Automatic chronograph, The 1993 original, “The Beast”.
26470ST: 42 mm, Steel, calibre 3126/3840, The core steel chronograph of the 2010s.
26420SO: 43 mm, Steel, calibre 4401, 2021 generation with quick-change straps.
26238CE: 42 mm, Black ceramic, calibre 4404, Ceramic case and integrated bracelet.
26238CD: 42 mm, Blue ceramic, calibre 4404, The same design in blue ceramic.
15720ST: 42 mm, Steel, calibre 4308, Offshore Diver, time and date, 300 m.
Offshore Sizes and Materials
Most Offshores measure 42 mm or 43 mm, with some chronographs and special editions at 44 mm. All of them sit taller than a Royal Oak, so the case feels bigger than the diameter suggests. If you have a slimmer wrist, try one on before deciding.
Steel is the classic material. Black ceramic (CE) is light and highly scratch resistant but can chip on a hard knock, titanium (TI) is light and warm to wear, and forged carbon and gold editions sit at the more exclusive end. Pink gold carries the OR code, as across the Royal Oak family.
Méga Tapisserie Dials, Bezels and Straps
The Offshore uses the bold Méga Tapisserie dial pattern, larger than the Royal Oak’s, with big luminous markers and chronograph counters. Collectors call white-dial versions with dark counters “Panda”, and colour often defines the model, from black and blue to grey, green and brighter limited shades.
The octagonal bezel and exposed screws remain, but the case adds a large crown and pushers, often clad in rubber or ceramic. Most models come on rubber straps, while the ceramic 26238 has an integrated bracelet. The 2021 generation added a quick-change strap system, so check which straps come with the watch.
Offshore Movements and Water Resistance
The 43 mm generation uses calibre 4401, an integrated flyback chronograph with a column wheel and a 70-hour power reserve. The ceramic 26238 uses calibre 4404, the 26470ST a calibre 3126 base with a 3840 chronograph module, and the Offshore Diver 15720ST calibre 4308. Offshore chronographs are generally water resistant to 100 m and the Diver to 300 m, but avoid pressing chronograph pushers underwater.
Royal Oak Offshore vs Royal Oak Chronograph
Both share the octagonal bezel and a Tapisserie dial, but they suit different moods.
Case: the Offshore is 42 mm to 44 mm and thick, while the Royal Oak Chronograph 26240 is 41 mm and slimmer, with a 38 mm option.
Dial: Méga Tapisserie on the Offshore, Grande Tapisserie on the Royal Oak.
Wearing: the Offshore usually sits on rubber and is rated to 100 m, while the Royal Oak wears its integrated bracelet and is rated to 50 m.
Generations: within the Offshore, the 43 mm 26420 adds calibre 4401, a flyback function and quick-change straps over the 42 mm 26470ST.
What Affects Royal Oak Offshore Prices
Material and generation lead: ceramic, forged carbon and gold trade differently from steel, and the 4401 generation differently from earlier references. Colourway matters a great deal, and limited editions and collaborations trade on their own markets. After that, chronograph service history, the condition of rubber parts and case bevels, year and completeness, including original straps, box and warranty card, refine the figure.
Before You Buy an Offshore: Checklist
Run the chronograph: start, stop and reset, plus the flyback on 4401 models, with hands snapping cleanly back to zero.
Inspect rubber straps and rubber-clad pushers for cracks, and ceramic cases for chips at the edges.
Look at the bezel and lugs for softened bevels from polishing.
On 2021-generation cases, check that the quick-change straps lock firmly.
Match the full reference, including the material code, to the papers.
Confirm which straps or bracelet are included.
Ask when the chronograph was last serviced.

How We Inspect Every Royal Oak Offshore
Every Offshore chronograph is run through repeated start, stop and reset cycles, with the flyback tested on 4401 models, and we watch for hands that jump or stop short of zero. We check winding, timekeeping and date change, the crown and pushers, and the condition of ceramic edges, rubber parts and case bevels, then match serial and reference numbers to the papers.
Photos on each listing are of the exact watch, with its condition and contents stated. Before you commit, we can send a video of the chronograph running or a written condition report.
Replicas, modified Offshores and watches with removed serials never make it to our listings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 42 mm and 43 mm Royal Oak Offshore?
The 42 mm family includes the 26470ST and the ceramic 26238. The 43 mm 26420, introduced in 2021, brought calibre 4401 with a flyback function, a redesigned case and quick-change straps. The extra millimetre is noticeable on the wrist, so we recommend trying both if you can.
Is a ceramic Royal Oak Offshore a good choice?
Ceramic suits buyers who want a lighter watch that resists everyday scratches and keeps its colour. The trade-off is that a hard knock can chip it, and chips cannot be polished out the way steel scratches can. The 26238 is made in both black and blue ceramic.
How water resistant is the Royal Oak Offshore?
Offshore chronographs are generally rated to 100 m, so swimming is fine as long as the crown is closed and you avoid pressing the pushers underwater. For diving, the Offshore Diver is rated to 300 m. We suggest a pressure test after any service.
Should I buy a Royal Oak Offshore or a Royal Oak?
Choose the Offshore if you want a bigger, sportier chronograph on rubber that stands out. Choose the Royal Oak if you prefer a slimmer watch on an integrated bracelet that moves easily from the office to dinner. You can compare the two side by side at a viewing in Dubai.
Will an Offshore be too big for my wrist?
It depends on wrist width and how you like a watch to sit. The Offshore is tall as well as wide, and its rubber strap makes it feel lighter than it looks. Send us your wrist size on WhatsApp or book a viewing in Dubai and we will suggest the right reference.
Do pre-owned Offshores come with their extra straps?
It varies. Some Offshores were sold with additional straps, and the 2021 generation uses a quick-change system. Each listing states exactly which straps, bracelet, box and papers are included, so you know what you are paying for before you commit.
Are your Royal Oak Offshore watches authentic?
Yes. Specialists authenticate and inspect each Offshore before it is listed, checking the movement, case, dial, bracelet or strap, serial and reference numbers and documents against the reference. Replicas, modified pieces and watches with removed serials are refused, so every Offshore you see here has passed those checks.
Do you give a warranty on a pre-owned Offshore?
Yes. Every Offshore we sell comes with our own dealer warranty covering mechanical function, which matters on a chronograph with more working parts. If the watch still has its Audemars Piguet warranty card, that is stated on the listing too.
How do I pay for a Royal Oak Offshore?
Payment is accepted in cash or cryptocurrency, and each sale is documented with a formal invoice. We do not use informal channels or third-party apps. If you are trading in a watch, its agreed value is deducted first and you pay the balance.
Can I see an Offshore in person in Dubai?
Yes, by appointment only, as we do not take walk-ins. We are in Nad Al Hamar, Dubai, with appointments Monday to Wednesday 9 AM to 8 PM, Thursday 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday 2 PM to 9 PM and Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM. Message us on WhatsApp to book.
Can you source a limited-edition Offshore?
Often, yes. Limited editions and specific colourways are exactly what our sourcing network is for, through collectors and dealers across Dubai, Europe and Asia. Send the reference and budget on WhatsApp, and there is no obligation until we find the watch.
How fast can I receive an Offshore?
Within the UAE, delivery is free, insured and same-day once your order is confirmed, or you can collect in Dubai by appointment. Outside the UAE, we arrange shipping case by case and quote it for your order before anything is sent.
